I love what you have to say St. Patrick’s Day Flag Registered Nurse Life Shirt . I am a Christian. People automatically think that I self-righteous hate monger. I have friends from so many walks of life. I neither agree with everything that everyone of them does or believes, nor do they agree with me. I have learned that people often attack those with different views because they are somehow afraid that they will be changed. I believe exactly what you have stated so eloquently. I do not have to agree with someone to like them, treat them with respect, and/or love them. For me, to empathize is to choose to love. Thank you again for this message.

Very powerful, thank you for sharing St. Patrick’s Day Flag Registered Nurse Life Shirt . Im wondering if you can help me offline as I am working with that young stage of “adolescent -social media- hatred”… the total lack of thinking and feeling for others. Its not the best stage for inherent reflection. Wondering your views as to steering this discussion NOW and not when they become adults. I look fwd to his response. I am a self-professed geek in this area, not at all sarcastic. I believe Mike Casey is onto something. As a child psych nurse, I ponder whether high-functioning autistics appear to lose empathy just b/c they are online so much. Please do not judge me, I just think differently.I don’t think judgment belongs in authentic curiosity and learning. I understand the neurodynamics and brain-based etiology. My question had to do more to methods of engaging the preadolescent brain and teaching- I believe there is a difference between cognitive empathy and true emotional empathy. I struggle finding alternative methods to directly “teach” at this precious preteen timeframe. Thanks all for responding.
